Two friends, and a lifelong love of the wild.
Aflona Africa began the way the best safaris do — on the road. For its founders, Shyam Shah and Sameer Doshi, some of the clearest memories in life were made behind the wheel in East Africa: the country shifting from town to open plain to forest, the windows down, the air turning cooler and cleaner with every mile, and that quiet anticipation of what might be waiting around the next bend.
Both grew up captivated by wildlife — Shyam has loved safari since he was a boy — and both carry a camera wherever the road leads. Years of chasing light across the Serengeti, the Mara and the crater rim taught them that the wonder of this part of the world isn't only in what you see. It's in how it makes you feel: small, still, and completely present.
They built Aflona to share that feeling. Modern luxury means you no longer have to trade comfort for the wild — a beautiful camp at the end of the drive, a cool breeze off the plains at first light, and someone quietly handling every detail, so all that's left for you to do is look up and breathe.
That's the journey we design for everyone who comes to us — honeymooners, families, photographers and first-time travellers — across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Not a package. A feeling you carry home.
